The Vixen comes out of her den…

VixenGreetings from the Vixen of Verse and welcome to my very first blog post!

When I set up Partner in Rhyme, I wasn’t sure how successful my little personalised poetry venture would be but I’m delighted to say that I have now produced odes and ditties for all sorts of occasions for people all over the UK.

I thought it was about time I got most of my personalised poetry and witty ditty work on to my website so I have been busy doing that.

When I started my venture, my intention was to be completely incognito and operate under the guise of The Vixen of Verse however people are sharing such intimate and personal memories and thoughts with me that I thought it only fair to share back……

So, a little about me…I’ve always loved writing and reading.  As the daughter of a librarian, that’s perhaps natural and my sisters and I were encouraged to devour books at a young age.  At school, I loved English literature and English language and began to write my own poetry and even some song lyrics.

I was a winner in a Young Poets’ competition two years on the trot.  Although I was rightly proud, I did cringe when my Mother would extol the virtues of my poetry prowess to any new boyfriend on the scene!

I began to produce witty ditties often – writing verse in birthday cards and visitors’ books on many occasions and very soon, I was regularly being asked to write them for friends.

The idea of Partner in Rhyme had been on the back burner for many years but I was busy running my own Public Relations consultancy where I wrote for the media largely.

Encouraged by my husband, I eventually set up a website to test the water and I’ve been delighted with the response!  Obviously I’m not the only one offering this service however I write all my poems myself – nothing is outsourced – and from the many examples that I now show online, you can easily see whether you like my style.

I absolutely love the challenge of producing a ditty that incorporates everything that you would like to say and I work with my customers until they have the perfect ode.

So I thought I’d use this blog to share my musings on a regular basis both in verse and in prose.

I hope you enjoy it.

With love from
